A 'first tentative step'

Zimbabwe's opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai has said a pact with President Robert Mugabe is a 'first tentative step' in the political crisis which is gripping the country.
Following Mugabe's 'win' in the recent bloody and farcical elections, the pair have decided enter into immediate talks aiming at establishing a new government.
It's clear international pressure from the United Nations (UN), the African Union (AU) and, closer to home, South Africa, is taking its toll on Mugabe. At 84, is an ageing 'politician' anchored in the past and synonymous with bloodshed.
The decisive movement of the UN and the AU in siding themselves with South Africa's President Thabo Mbeki has also been of comfort to the Tsvangirai-fronted Movement for Democratic Change (MDC).
According to the MDC, many of their supporters have lost their lives, countless people were tortured and countless more were threatened and harrassed into voting for Mugabe's regime.
Here's hoping they can find a positive resolution to resolve the madness.
